Preparing for the Examination: PCP CPCF Candidates
The COPR Primary Care Paramedic Examination (PCP) will transition to the Canadian Paramedic Competence Framework (CPCF) with the May 2026 administration. You, the candidate, will have the option to write according to the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) or CPCF for three administrations, with the transition to the CPCF fully in place in November 2026.
Examination Study Guide
The PCP Examination Study Guide for CPCF (coming soon) assists you in preparing for the examination by providing tips, strategies, and sample questions. The guide includes the following information:
• the examination format
• recommended exam-taking strategies
• examples of the type, format, and content of examination questions
• an appendix of abbreviations and acronyms
• a list of reference textbooks used when developing the questions.
Examination Blueprint
The examination blueprints outline the content to be covered and the expected number of questions per competency area for entry-level PCPs in Canada.

Preparatory Tests
Preparatory tests are available for purchase by clicking here. Click “Signup” on the page to create an account.
Note: The preparatory tests are available to the general public. The username and password required to access the tests are not the username and password you used to apply for the examination.
The preparatory tests are designed to simulate the format of the actual COPR Entry to Practice Examinations on a smaller scale. The tests also use the same software platform you will find on the examination. The tests for the PCP and ACP designations each contain 60 multiple-choice, single-answer questions that align to the appropriate examination blueprint. Each test costs $75 plus tax and can be purchased anytime. Once the preparatory test is submitted, you will be provided with the following for each question: the correct answer, the rationale for the correct answer, the NOCP competency area the question is testing, and one or more textbook references.
Purchasing a preparatory test does not provide any preferential treatment.
