National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) and Canadian Paramedic Competence Framework (CPCF) Comparison
COPR completed a mapping exercise of the NOCP to the CPCF, resulting in this comparison document. Educators may request detailed mapping spreadsheets by contacting COPR at info@copr.ca.
Understanding Appendix A in the Framework
Appendix A contains an expanded list of foundational knowledge and essential skills required for Area H of the framework: Care Along a Health and Social Continuum. It outlines what emergency medical responders (EMRs) and paramedics need to know and be able to do, both at entry to practice and throughout their careers, to provide effective care. COPR has created this supporting document, which explains how Appendix A links to Area H and supports the framework.
List of Named Medications and Drug Classifications Used on the CPCF Examinations
COPR has developed this list of medication names and drug classifications used on the CPCF Examinations for the EMR, primary care paramedic, and advanced care paramedic designations. Anticholinergic bronchodilator and Sympathomimetic bronchodilator were added to this list in February of 2026 for the PCP and ACP designations. The list was developed to support consistency across Canada and ensure alignment with the framework.
